7TH GRADE END SEASON 7-1

The Banquet was held Thursday Nov 8 at First Baptist Church. A great highlight video was played. Thanks to Carlton Anderson.

Cordova kicked off to the Dragons and Connor Riales down the ball at the 37 yard line.
The offense took charge with blocking by DJ Barrow, Colton Crocker, Michael Pedron,Garrett Wisher,Zach Vaculin, and Andy Paton. Ryan Fonseca carried for 4 yards.
On the next play Christian Enochs passed to Tight end Andy Paton for 35 yards and a first down at the 24 yard line. Dylan Young carried two plays for 10 yards. Chaney Young carried the final 7 yards for the TD.
Dylan Young ran the 2 point conversion for a 8-0 Dragon lead.
After an Enochs kickoff, the defense went to work. Calvin Burris, Zane Marrow,Bryce Johnson, Harrison House, and Corbin McOlgan forced a Cordova punt.
DJ Barrow tackled the punter before he could get the punt away. The offense was in business at the 29 yard line. Christian Enochs passed to Parker Fossett for a first down at the 5 yard line. Chaney Young took it in from there for the touchdown. Ryan Fonseca converted the 2 point conversion from the 3 yard line for a 16-0 lead.
Harrison House tackled the ball carrier on the kickoff at the 20 yard line.
Once again the defense came up big. Cameron Mosley had a pass break up and on the next play Connor Riales recovered a fumble.
Christian Enochs wasted little time when he hit Tyler Lawrence for a 17 yard touchdown pass. Michael Pedron caught the 2 point conversion, on a pass from Enochs. Score Dragons 24 Wolves 0.
DJ Barrow kicked off to the 35 yard lind.
Cameron Mosley and Connor Riales broke up pass attempts to force a punt.
Cordova went to their bag of tricks and faked the punt and ran for a first down at the 38 yard line. Tyler Lawrence made the tackle on the play. Cordova fumbled on their first play and Joseph Shanks recovered at the 37 yard line.
Tyler Lawrence replaced Enochs at Quarterback. A 24 yard run by Chaney Young gave the offense a first down at the 2 yard line. Tyler lawrence got the TD on a 2 yard run. Lawrence also got the 2 point conversion on a 3 yard run. Score Dragons 32 Wolves 0.
DJ Barrow once again kicked deep and the Wolves fumbled. Brandon Turner came up with the football for the Dragons. Grayson Vaughn entered the game at Quarterback. Also in the back field was Connor Riales, Joseph Shanks,Chase Malone, and Brandon "huggy bear' Jordan.
The offense was on the move with runs by Riales and Shanks. Brantley Green came in at Quarterback and ran 18 yards for another Dragon score.
Dillion Callicott's run for the 2 point conversion was no good. The halftime score was 38-0 Dragons.

Chaney Young kicked off to start the 2nd half. Matt walker put a vicious hit on the return man to force a fumble. The fumble was recovered by Kyle Dockery.
The Offense hit the field with Brantley Green, Connor Riales, CJ Anderson, Alex Dees, Eli Williard, Austin McLain, Evan Davis, and Taylor White.
Both teams exchanged punts. Cordova got on the board on a TD pass and run. Jackson Davis returned the Cordova kickoff. Grayson Vaughn came in the game to run the offense for the Dragons. CJ Anderson had a nice run off the left tackle. Cordova took over on downs. Cordova scored again on a long pass to cut the lead to 38-12.
Jordan Duncan intercepted the pass for the 2 point conversion.
The game ended Dragons 38 Cordova 12.
The final record was 7 wins and 1 loss.

The Dragons lost the toss for the first time this year but Millington elected to kickoff.  
The Dragons opened with  Andy Paton, Christian Enochs, Tyler Lawrence, and Chaney Young in the backfield.The Dragons were forced to punt after 3 plays and the Trojans went on the offensive. A big play by Dylan Young ended in a punt by the Trojans. Another 3 and out and Tyler Lawrence punted to the Dragons 35 yard line where Joseph Surbaugh made the tackle.Neither team was able to get much going as the game had become a defensive battle. Defensive Ends Harrison House and Corbin McOlgan kept the Trojans from going outside. D.J Barrow and Ryan Fonseca made it hard to gain yardage up the middle. On the offensive side the Dragons were struggling to get first downs.    
The Dragons got a break in the 2nd Quarter when Millington fumbled a Lawrence punt which was recovered by Ryan Fonseca.
Enochs passed to Carson Harris for a first down and it looked like the Dragons were on the move. They stalled and the Dragons punted once again.
Millington hit a long pass down the right sideline for a first down at the 25 yard line. Joseph Surbaugh tackled the receiver from behind to save a touchdown. Millington went to the air one more time and connected for a touchdown. The 2 point conversion was stopped by Calvin Burriss and Corbin McOlgan and the score at halftime was Millington 6 Collierville 0.
Millington kicked off to Dylan Young to start the second half. He returned the ball to the Trojan's 34 yard line. A screen pass with fullback Andy Paton worked well for a first down. Option pitch left with Dylan Young for 26 yards gave the Dragons a another first down. Good blocking by the line with Colton Crocker, Corbin Toll, and Zach Vaculin gave the running backs a place to run. An Option pitch right with Dylan Young put the ball at the 35 yard line.
A slant pass to Joseph Surbaugh was incomplete to stop the drive.
Millington took over on Offense but was stopped over and over by aggressive play. Zane Marrow batted a pass away while rushing the Quarterback. D.J Barrow had a bone crushing hit on the Quarterback. Bryce Johnson stepped up big for the Defense. Michael Pedron made a great tackle on a sweep that looked to be going for big yardage.
Millington punted the ball to the Dragon 31 yard line. Chaney Young carried the ball for 8 yards and then 3 yards for a first down. Dylan Young entered the game and ran for 5 and 3 yards. The drive stalled and Millington took over on downs.
In the 4th Quarter D.J. Barrow had a tackle for a loss and Joseph Surbaugh broke up a pass to force another Millington punt. Harrison House stormed thru and blocked his second punt of the year to set the Dragons up at the 33 yard line. Chaney young ripped off a run to the 20 yard for a first down. He then carried to the 11 yard line. On the next play he scored from the 11 yard line to tie the game. The 2 point conversion was no good. The game  was tied at 6-6.
The Defense shut the Trojans down to get the ball back for the Dragons. An Enoch's pass for Andy Paton fell incomplete near the goal line. The first half ended with a screen pass from Enochs to Paton .
In overtime Collierville started from the 10 yard line with 4 downs to score. It took every down to pull off the feat. On 4th down Christian Enochs found Tyler Lawrence at the goal line on a 27 yard pass to score the winning TD.
Once again the 2 point conversion was no good.
The Dragons played defense one more time. D.J.Barrow made a tackle for a loss. Andy Paton batted a pass away to stop a score. Corbin McOlgan tackled the tailback for a loss on 3rd down. The game ended when Joseph Surbaugh batted a Trojan pass away at the 10 yard line.
This was a hard fought battle that went down to the very end.
Collierville 12 Millington 6.
The final game of the year will be Monday October 29th at 6:00pm vs Cordova.
Next game Monday October 29th at Cordova 6:00pm.

Playing a new team in the league is always a challenge but the Dragons answered the call, beating Southwind 36-12 . Team Captains for the night were Eli Willard,Garrett Wisher,Andrew Rochester, and Chase Malone.
The Dragons won the toss and elected to receive. Dylan Young was the workhorse on the first series of plays.On fourth down the Dragons Tyler Lawrence punted to the Jags and the defense took over. Corbin McOlgan forced a fumble which was recovered by Harrison House. Christian Enochs completed a pass to Michael Pedron for a first down at the 20 yard line. Chaney Young rips off tackle for 18 yards and a first down at the 2 yard line. Fullback Carson Harris got the touchdown on a 2 yard dive off right tackle . Dylan Young runs the 2 point conversion for an 8-0 lead.
Enochs boomed the kickoff deep to give the Jags bad field possession.
Corbin McOlgan made play after play for losses from his Defensive end position.
To start the 2nd Quarter the jags attempted to punt but the punter was tackled by Dennis Surbaugh.
Chaney Young's blast off tackle was good for a TD. Dylan Young converted the 2 point conversion for a 16-0 lead. Offensive line continues to block well with Colton Crocker, Zach Vaculin,Garrett Wisher,DJ Barrow, Ricky Hann, Austin Long,Corbin McOlgan,Corbin Toll, Evan Davis,and Zane Marrow.
Christian Enochs long kickoff pinned the Jags again deep in Dragon territory with a big hit by Carson Harris. The Jags went to work on Offense with their wishbone formation. The Dragon defense allows only 3 plays before the Jags punt the ball.
Tanner Fuquay calls a fair catch at the 40 yard line.The Dragon Offense turns the ball over on a fumble. DJ Barrow makes a big hit on the Jag running back to save a first down. Ryan Fonseca tackles the ball carrier 2 times in the back field to force another Jag punt.
With time running out in the first half the Dragons try to score one more before halftime.
A screen pass from Enochs to Andy Paton picks up big yardage to put the ball at the 8 yard line. A keeper by Enochs stopped the clock as he was able to run out of bounds. An Enoch's pass to Paton to the 1 yard line set up the drama. With no timeouts remaining Enochs quickly set the team and spiked the ball to stop the clock with .1 seconds on the clock.
Chaney Young got the touchdown on a blast off left tackle. The 2 point conversion was no good. Score Dragons 22 Jags 0 at halftime.
The Dragons kicked off to start the 2nd half. Several long plays by Southwind put the Jags in scoring possession. Corbin Toll came up with a big play to stop the Jags and get the ball back for the Dragon Offense.
Chaney young rips off a 70 yard TD around the right end to increase the lead. Dragons 30 Jags 0. DJ Barrow kicked off and Michael Pedron makes the stop. Ryan Fonseca makes several tackles behind the line to keep the Jags bottled up. Matt Walker broke up a pass attempt by the Jags to stop a first down. The Jags were forced to punt and it was blocked by Harrison House.
Tucker Akin recovered the ball to give the Dragons a 36-0 lead.
The Dragon Defense continued to halt the Jags Offense. CJ Anderson and Drew Rochester led the charge.
Grayson Vaughn and Brantley Green entered the game at quarterback to lead the team in the 4th quarter. Matt Walker ran a sweep from his Tailback position. Joseph Shanks, Parker Fossett, Alex Dees, Austin Long, and Eli Willard were blocking.
On the Defensive side Brandon Turner made a big play to drop the running back for a loss on a sweep play. Kyle Dockery almost had an interception from his cornerback position. Cameron Mosely made a good tackle on a pass completion. Sam Brunson and Jacob Sammons made plays for the defense. Brandon Jordan returned a kickoff and took a big hit from a Jag player.
The game ended with the score Dragons 36 Jags 12.

Next game vs Millington at home Oct. 16th.

The Dragons potent Offense ran wild at Bolton Tuesday night.
The running backs had plenty of space to run with blocking by the Offensive line. The line was led by Zach Vaculin, Garrett Wisher, Colton Crocker, D.J. Barrow,Michael Pedron, and Corbin Toll.
The offense began with a slant pass to Dennis Surbaugh from Christian Enochs to the 40 yard line. A dive play with Ryan Fonseca went for 40 yards and a touchdown. The 2 point conversion was good for an 8-0 lead.
The Defense stymied  the Bolton Offense with stops by Carson Harris and Calvin Burriss.
D.J Barrow had a tackle behind the line of scrimmage to force a Bolton punt.
The Offense started the 2nd series with Parker Fossett, Carson Harris, and Chaney Young in the backfield.
Tyler Lawrence's punt pinned the wildcats deep in their own territory. Zane Marrow forced another  Bolton punt and the Dragons were back in business on Offense.
This time Tyler Lawrence was at Quarterback and led the Dragons down the field. Dylan Young, Taner Fuquay, and Carson Harris pounded the middle of the Wildcats line. Dylan Young got the TD on a 5 yard run off tackle. The 2 point conversion was a pass to Tight End Andy Paton from Tyler Lawrence. Dragons 16 Wildcats 0.
Taner Fuquay provided a big hit on the kickoff to pin the Wildcats deep.
The half ended with the Dragons in control of the game.
C.J Anderson and Bryce Johnson put the pressure on the Wildcats Offense and forced another punt.
Chaney Young scored the next Dragon TD on a 2 yard run. The 2 point conversion was a keeper by Enochs to make the score 24-0.
D.J.Barrow kicked off and the defense went to work.
Three plays and Bolton was punting again after Brantley Green and Matt Walker made sure they did not get a first down.
Grayson Vaughn entered the game at Quarterback and handed off to Conner Riales.
Matt walker got the call next and answered with a 47 yard run up the right side line for six.
The 2 point conversion was good on a run by Conner Riales. Dragons 32 Wildcats 0.
Defense was led in the 4th quarter by Andrew Rochester,Brandon Turner,Brandon Jordan,Chris McEachran, Jacob Sammons, and J.D. Duncan.
The Offense took over at the 20 yard line with Brantley Green at Quarterback and Brandon Jordan at Tailback.
Brantley Green got the next Td from 5 yards out.Brandon Jordan's 2 point run was no good.
The Defense put a stop on the Wildcats with Hastin Witt, Austin McLain, and Dillion Callicott leading the charge.
The final touchdown was scored on a 62 yard run by Matt Walker on a block from Chase Malone.
Final score Dragons 44 Wildcats 6.
Next game will at home vs Southwind Tuesday October 9 at 6:00 p.m.

The Dragons played at home before a home crowd and they did not disappoint. Chaney Young opened the night with a 57 yard TD on the 2nd play of the game.Christian Enochs threw to Tyler Lawrence for the 2 point conversion and the dragons were up 8-0.

The defense played tough with DJ Barrow, Carson Harris, Harrison House, and Devin Toles. On the next offensive possesion the Dragons moved  the football with Dylan Young gaining most of the yardage. Dylan Young scored off tackle for the second TD of the night. Enochs try for the 2 point conversion was no good. The Dragons led 14-0.

Bartlett socred to cut the lead to 14-6. Ryan Fonseca sacked the Quarterback on the 2 point conversion. Andy Paton took the kickoff 50 yards to set the Dragons up in good field possesion.Enochs hit the line with a keeper to gain  yardage. Chaney Young scored on  an 8 yard run to run the score to 20-6.
Later in the Quarter Andy Paton scored from the 3 yard line to put the score at 26-6.

ARLINGTON REMATCH 9/22/07 @ OSTEEN FIELD

The Dragons showed early for a rematch with Arlington. An 8:00am start time did not seem to bother the players as the game was hard fought from the beginning. The Dragon defense hustled and ran to the football for all 4 quarters.The defense was led by Sam Brunson,Cason Fernimen,Keegan Hudson,JD Duncan,and Andrew Rochester on the first series of plays. Offense made plays with Chase Malone, Dillon callicott,Parker Fosset, and Grayson Vaughn.The offensive line blocked with Alex Dees,Evan Davis,Taylor White,Austin McLain, and Eli Willard.
Grayson Vaughn completed a pass to Joseph Shanks to move the football into the red zone.On the next play Parker Fossett carried 21 yards for the first Dragon TD.
The 2 point conversion was no good.
More defense followed with Kyle Butler, Brantley Green,Cameron Mosley,CJ Anderson,Hastin Witt, and Matt Walker.
Arlington completed a 27 yard pass for a touchdown to tie the score at 6-6.
On the next offensive series the Dragons tried some tricks as they  reversed the ball with Fossett for a 35 yard gain.Grayson Vaughn hit Walker on a nice pass to the 8 yard line.Parker scored his second TD of the day on the next play. A pass from Vaughn to Shanks was no good and the score stood at 14-6.
Arlington answered with a TD run of  57 yards.
Riales and Walker took charge and began to rip off large chunks of yardage for the Dragon Offense. Brantley Green took over at Quarterback and did a nice job of running the team.  
Conner Riales scored from 5 yards out to close out the scoring for the Dragons.The 2 point conversion was no good. The game ended with an interception by Brandon Jordan.
Final score Dragons 20 Arlington 12.

The 7th Grade Dragons came out breathing fire Tuesday night and did not waste any time.
A hand off to Chaney Young on the 2nd offensive play of the night produced a 70 yard TD.
Running behind Tyler Lawrence, Corbin Toll, DJ Barrow, and the down field blocking of Dylan Young, Chaney raced untouched to the endzone.
The 2 point conversion failed the score was 6-0 Dragons.
A smothering Defense took over and swarmed the Mustang offense led by Harrison House and Corbin McOlgan. Andy Patton charged from his cornerback position to stop any sweep attempt by the Mustangs.
After a Houston punt gave Collierville good field position, the offense wasted no time moving the football toward pay dirt.Once again the offensive line opened huge holes off tackle to spring Chaney Young.This time Zach Vaculin Corbin McOlgan, and Michael Pedron led the charge.
Quarterback Christian Enochs rolled left and hit Tight end Tyler Lawrence on the run at the 20 yard line and he carried the pigskin the distance to make the score 12-0 Dragons. The 2 point conversion was no good. The Dragons led 12-0 after the first quarter.
The second Quarter was more of the same. The offense kept getting big chucks of yardage between the tackles. Taner Fuquay took over and made several long runs behind the blocking of the offensive line. Carson Harris came in to relieve Ryan Fonseca at fullback and ripped off a 60 yard run on a trap play. The play was called back for a block in the back. This did not phase the offense as they kept rolling with keepers by Enochs and a sweep by Dylan Young.
Fuquay gets a long run off left tackle to put the ball at the 10 yard line.
Quarterback Christian Enochs calls a keeper to the left side to score from 10 yards out. The 2 point conversion was good on a keeper to the right. The half time score stood 20-0 Dragons.

The second half began with the defense dominating play.Linbackers Dylan Young, Ryan Fonseca, and DJ Barrow were unstoppable. Zane Marrow, Devin Toles, Jackson Davis also added to the Mustangs misery.
The offense added one more TD by Chaney Young to put the score at 26-0.
More players entered the game for Collierville and they did not miss a beat.
Quarterback Grayson Vaughn led the offense along with Chase Malone hitting the Mustangs between the tackles. Defense continued to pressure the Mustangs Offense. Brantley Green made an open field tackle that stopped a drive and Matt Walker kept the sweeps under control.
Safety Jordan Duncan downed the last Houston punt to put the offense in business at the 25 yard line. After a Collierville punt, Houston was able to score on a pass and run by their Tight End. The xtra point kick was good and the game ended Dragons 26 Mustangs 7.
Next game vs Arlington Saturday September 22 at 8:00am.

Team Captains for the Arlington game were Zach Vaculin, Ryan Fonseca, and Chaney Young.
This game quickly became a defensive battle with both teams laying big time hits on the ball carriers.
Leading the defensive charge in the first quarter were Harrison House,Devin Toles,Corbin McOlgan,Bryce Johnson, Zane Marrow, and D.J. Barrow.
From the tailback position Chaney Young was able to shake a would be tackler and score the Dragons first touchdown of the year. The 2 point conversion was good and the Dragons took an 8-0 lead into the 2nd Quarter.
Christian Enochs kickoff was brought back to the 37 yard line where Tyler Lawrence and Harrison House made the ttackle.
The Defense held and the Offense was back in business again.
This time Chaney Young ripped off a 90 yard TD run, however it was called back for a block in the back.The Dragons were forced to punt .
Arlington scored on a 27 yard sweep but missed the 2 point conversion to make the score Dragons 8 Arlington 6 at half time.

In the 3rd Quarter the Dragon Offensive line began to wear down the Arlington Defense.
Big blocks by Center Colton Crocker, Zach Vaculin, Corbin Toll, D.J.
Barrow, Michael Pedron, and Tyler Lawrence opened running lanes for Chaney Young, Dylan Young, and Christian Enochs. Enochs scored on a Quarterback keeper in the 3rd Quarter to give the Dragons some breathing room. The 2 point conversion was no good. The score stood 14-6 going into the 4th Quarter.
The Defense made plays to keep Arlington out of the end Zone. A nice pass break up by Carson Harris and an interception at the 15 yard line by Trey Niter stopped one drive.
Andy Paton ended Arlington's last chance with an interception at the 10 Yard line.
The Dragons even their record at 1-1 for the year.
