#3 Jon Scruggs hauls in a pass for a big gain. He caught 3 passes for 69 on the night. The senior starts at CB, Wr, and returns punts. For the year he has 8 receptions for 191 yards and 2 TD's. Scruggs is averaging 24 yards per catch

The Spartan’s from White Station gunned the Dragons at Herman Osteen Field and spoiled their Homecoming and perfect record. The Spartans’ used a potent passing attack to set up the running game while amassing a total of 524 yards of offense.

The Dragons took the opening kick-off and drove deep into Spartan territory, but the drive stalled and set up a Brett Caldwell field goal for an early 3-0 lead. The lead was brief as the Spartan’s passed and ran their way down the field for the score on their first possession. David Adams blocked the extra point attempt making the score 6-3.

The Dragons responded with a drive of their own early in the second quarter with So. Noel Moye’s first of 3 touchdowns on the night. Caldwell’s extra point gave the Dragons the lead at 10-3. The Dragon offense was led by QB Brian Hall’s 86 yards rushing and 89 yards passing (5/14).

Sr. Taylor Brashear 67 yards rushing with Sr. Brian Nevill adding 30 yards on the ground. The Dragon defense was led once again by Sr. LB Dustin Brasher with 13 tackles.

After Moye’s TD, the Spartans answered on the first play of their next possession with Charlie Jordan running 80 yards for the go ahead touchdown. The Spartans’ would take a 14-10 lead and never look back the rest of the game. The Spartans would rack up 286 yards passing and 238 yards rushing while limiting the Dragons to 202 yards rushing and 89 yards passing.

The Dragon’s look to rebound this week when they host Overton at Herman Osteen Field Friday.
