Merryman returned
the short punt to the 48 yd
line. The Collierville offense
went into gear driving the ball
down to the 1 yd line where
a chop block penalty moved the
ball back to the 16 yd line.
Plays by McMeans
and Brian
Hall moved the
ball back to the 1 where Noel
Moyes scored on double power
off the right tackle behind
the strong line blocking of

Hillis, Nash
Jackson, Jordan

On
the following kick-off Soph

the Hamilton kick returner at
the 23 yard line to set up a
very good defensive series by
the Dragons. First DB Jason
Smith broke up a long
pass play followed by a strong
hit by LB Andrew
White that DB
Brock Merryman followed
up with a secondary hit that
jarred the ball loose that was
recovered by the Wildcats. Additional
strong defensive plays by Jr

put the offense back in business
at 32 yd line. On first down,

Hall called play

Walker for a completion
down to the 22 yd line. After

defense was stunned by the speed
and athleticism of the Hamilton
Wildcats when they turned a
3 yd quick out pass into an
80 yd TD run. The extra point
was botched and the score stood
at 21-6, Dragons.
Sr
Jordan
Pedron took the
Hamilton kickoff at the 18 yard
line and returned it to the
Dragon 35 yd line. On first
down, QB

his own number on option right
and behind excellent blocking
from his line and receivers,
was sprung on a perfect downfield

to put the Dragons back up by
three touchdowns. Caldwell’s
PAT was good. Dragons 28 Wildcats

Following
the kickoff, the Dragon D hit
the field and turned in another
impressive series. A hustling

up the Wildcat QB that thwarted
a potential big gainer and following
an intentional grounding call,

nailed the Wildcat receiver
for minimal gain on a repeat

over on offense and QB Brian

defense continued to shine in
the second half. Jason
Spry recovered a Hamilton
fumble on the second offensive
play of the half for the Wildcats.
At this time, the Dragons began
substituting on the offense
to continue to build the team’s
experience and strength. Unable
to move the ball into the end
zone, it was turned over on
downs. Not to worry, Sr DE Ben
Huff took the ball
away from the Hamilton offense
and gave it back to the Dragons.
The Dragon offense again could
not get untracked and turned
the ball back over on downs
to Hamilton.
On
defense, QB pressure by Tyler
McMillon, Matt Fields, Jordan
Whitten led to
Jason Spry’s interception
to set the offense back up at
the 46 yard line. The rest of
the game was “mop up”
time. The Wildcats did score
again with 3:30 left in the
game but the outcome was already
determined. The Dragons dominated,
42 – 12.
